Overview

United Airlines has a Flight Training Center located in Denver Colorado. The Supervisor of Simulator Maintenance is responsible for the coordination, assignment, tracking and technical evaluation of all maintenance activities on the training devices. The supervisor position is an Operational/Management position and is responsible for employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The position may require occasional overtime as per the Working Together Guidelines for management level employees.

Responsibilities

Department

• Monitor parts usage and requests to ensure best maintenance and financial practices are followed

Ensure the FSTDs maintain an acceptable level of training performance

• Manage employee attendance and scheduling of employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement

• Manage overtime with work requirements

• Interface with various Flight Simulator Training Device manufacturers for issue resolutions

• Observe and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) work rules, interfacing with union representatives and HR, and mitigate employee workgroup issues

• Review individual work assignments with the assistance of the Lead Technicians ensuring discrepancies are assigned and corrective action is completed based on training impact

Compliance

• Ensure FAA 14 CFR Part 60 and SQMS compliance daily

• Monitor progress and ensure FSTD readiness for annual Continuing Qualification (CQ) evaluations

• Monitor the Flight Simulator training Device performance metrics, analyzing trends and coordinating corrective actions where necessary

• Monitor discrepancies and report MMI issues as required

• Monitor Preventative Maintenance actions for completion

• Monitor FAA QTG tests for completion in the required time frame and coordinate any remedial activities required to ensure completion

  Communication

• Communication with the Fleet users to obtain feedback on maintenance actions and performance including operation reliability

• Attend the monthly ‘How Goes It’ meetings between Engineering, Maintenance, and the Fleet users, providing oversight and feedback on the                   course of action for issue resolution; prepare the documentation for use during the meeting

• Counseling of employees on job performance and/or time and attendance issues; resolving conflict in the workplace

• Coordinate assistance from the Simulator Engineering group for resolution of discrepancies as required.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED or education equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

• Working knowledge of Flight Simulator Training Device qualifications, maintenance, and operational requirements.

• Three years’ experience Supervising or working as a Flight Simulator Technician or Engineer required

• Previous experience Supervising employees covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement preferred

• Working knowledge of MS Office suite required

• MS Office Visio and Project preferred

• Must be flexible and willing to work shifts as assigned. We are a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights, and holidays. This position will require working the midnight shift.

The salary for this position is $$111,690.00 to$122,870.00 dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

  • Customer-focused support for all stations involving customer and flight disruption such as diversions, extra sections, fuel stops and hold/no hold decisions
  • Monitor flights for Oversales and weight restrictions
  • Coordinate response with stations and document flights and hold seats out of inventory as necessary
  • Proactive re-booking of customers during IRROPS
  • Monitor Flight Monitoring Tool and VOLARE for each flight disruptions looking at downline connections, SSR (special service requests) and any connecting YPTA (young person traveling alone)
  • Monitor and respond to messages
  • Assist stations as needed with securing ground transportation, requesting hotels and providing meals to customers
  • Review and build crew booking requests from crew scheduling and Ops Managers
  • Complete all required company training on time

Job overview and responsibilities

This supervisory position is required to manage all aspects of the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) hub warehouses in IAH.  This position is designed to ensure support and oversight for represented warehouse workgroups.  These workgroups will provide dedicated parts and tooling support for our GSE Maintenance team.  THis position reports into the central team that is responsible for managing the supply chain of parts inventory to support United’s GSE & Facility Maintrnance Operations system-wide.

  • Supervise warehouse productivity; coordinate training; manage employee dependability issues; support team recognition program as well as support employee accountability programs in accordance with policy
  • Supervise Warehouse team performance and execution against all division and corporate objectives
  • Maintain staffing levels and ensure members are properly trained and equipped to support all job functions, including receiving, parts issues and receipts, physical inventory, safety environmental and best housekeeping practices

  • In addition to the Houston (IAH) warehoues, oversee and manage parts supply into Austin (AUS), Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW), San Antonio (SAT), New Orleans (MSY), Orlando (MCO), and Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

Stakeholder & Customer Alignment

  • Maintain proactive communication and positive relations with warehouse team and customer group stakeholders
  • Partner with all local customer bases ensuring positive customer relations and service-level goals achieved

Job overview and responsibilities

The Regional Cargo Operations Supervisor position assists the Regional Cargo Operations Manager within the APAC Guam, Micronesia, & Manila subregion.  This role will manage all aspects of Cargo operations including freight and mail handling, data entry, scanning and running.  

Responsibilities include vendor team leadership, performance management and administration. This role will have direct oversight of daily operations to ensure the highest level of product delivery in accordance with Company guidelines, the United Leadership Model, and in the spirit of the core4 (safe, caring, dependable, efficient). Focus will be on coaching Frontline vendor employees plus developing themselves as leaders. Recognized as experts in operational, administrative, and technical areas of the operation.

Team Leadership  

  • Oversee and support the performance of a larger team, zone, or cell         
  • Develop and support continuous improvement processes and initiatives
  • Provide Vendor Managers, and their frontline with regular coaching, feedback, and recognition as appropriate     
  • Provide technical guidance and interpret Company guidelines and procedures to support employees in functional tasks and to ensure that safety, security, and service are delivered consistently   
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide remedial expertise to ensure smooth & efficient cargo operations and develop sales opportunities.       
  • Mentoring Vendor Supervisors and administrative employees and act as backup for the operation when Manager is out of station, and sub-region.  

Performance Management  

  • Assist in tracking and analyzing departmental performance         
  • Set expectations regarding performance standards for supervisors and frontline employees and gain their commitment in accordance with Company guidelines and union agreements (if applicable)           
  • Work with and collaborate with Vendor Managers to conduct performance dialogues with employees to review metrics, performance, and issue resolution           
  • Work with and collaborate with Vendor Managers to address inappropriate behavior and performance issues with coaching and specific feedback 
  • Support investigations (as appropriate) into performance, safety, complaints, and other work-related issues         

Administration 

  • Maintain regular and prompt communication to include attending local meetings, townhalls, RAP sessions, e-mail/voicemail follow-up, and incident reports  
  • Seek cost-reduction opportunities and monitor controllable expenses    
  • Manage projects

Required 

  • High school diploma
  • 2 years of experience in a Supervisor position
  • Proficient in scheduling, payroll, and performance management systems to support frontline and vendor employees
  • Knowledge of Cargo Operations policies and procedures
