The Air Traffic Systems Ramp Controller’s primary purpose is to control the movement of aircraft in to and out of ramp/gate areas in a safe and efficient manner to achieve operational priorities.  Through effective flow of arrivals and departures will improve on-time performance and reduce taxi delays.  Proper sequencing of departures ensures high value flights receive necessary priority without impact to airport surface movement.  Arrival performance is improved as controllers make better decisions regarding whether to hold or push a flight using available tools

  • Control Movement of aircraft to and from ramp areas
  • Monitor inbound and outbound operations and determine best course of action to manage movement
  • Coordinate with local internal departments on flight priority and resource capabilities
  • Coordinate with airport authority, local FAA and internal departments
  • Provide ramp control services to other airlines under United control areas

Required

  • High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in Airline/Airport Operations and/or an aviation-related college degree

Job overview and responsibilities

Aircraft Records Coordinator are responsible for implementation of procedures and controls established within department or responsible functional group (or fleet type), in accordance with FAA, GMM and department DOP regulations, policies and procedures.  Responsible for the overall receipt, accountability, audits, routing, database updates and retention of maintenance compliance records, in either paper or electronic format.  Ensure that individual transactions and decisions result in complete and accurate maintenance compliance records and status reports; that are maintained in accordance with the FAA, corporate and department retention policies.

  • Responsible for enacting department policies and procedures (on a daily basis) that result in the timely receipt, accountability, audit and routing of maintenance compliance records (paper/electronic), as applicable, for assigned function and/or fleet types
  • Responsible for the timely, secure, complete, and accurate retention of maintenance compliance records; in accordance with FAA, corporate and department retention requirements, for functional or fleet specific maintenance compliance records
  • Manage and coordinate records and status reports related to recurring inspections, deferrals, audits and special projects (i.e. aircraft, engine exists, FAA audits, data migrations, external FAA/Legal/Other department requests, etc.) for functional or fleet specific status reports and/or maintenance compliance records
  • Process and convert specific paper records to electronic format, as prescribed by department policies, procedures, and special historical records projects
  • Coordinate with other departments, or working together groups, on projects and initiatives involving or affecting Aircraft Records

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED/education equivalent
  • Applicable hands-on knowledge and experience processing and accounting for FAA maintenance compliance records and recordkeeping regulations
  • Strong and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills, working independently and within and between work groups is
  • Able to multi-task and comply with priorities, even if they change, corresponding with operational needs
  • Ability to process repetitive tasks without degradation of quality is
  • Experience with company maintenance mainframe tracking systems, record retention systems and reports
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to pass both typing and 10-key proficiency tests, with satisfactory results
  • Ability to lift 25-pound boxes.

Preferred

  • Associate/BS/BA degree, or equivalent aviation maintenance experience
  • 3+ years of airline maintenance recordkeeping experience
