The Lead DevSecOps Engineer role is responsible for the security component of building, deploying, and monitoring environments of DevOps. The role will design, implement, and use procedures and controls to ensure and protect the safety and security of information systems assets, including prevention of intentional or inadvertent access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. This role partners with software development teams to create, implement, and apply DevOps principles and processes for secure coding practices, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Create and deliver end-to-end automation for evaluation, instrumentation, notification, and extraction of code modules to assure deployment of secure code in an Azure Cloud environment using Agile development framework experience.
  • Build and configure secure delivery environments using Agile methodology for continuous delivery and integration.
  • Create scripts and templates to automate baseline security in the provisioning and management of infrastructure.
  • Work closely with development teams to create a secure and mature CD/CI environment and culture.
  • Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time for tasks and responses.
  • Develop and implement the automation to install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Provide cybersecurity subject matter expertise to a variety of audiences.
  • Advocate appropriate cybersecurity software engineering principles such as unit testing, code reviews, quality engineering practices, and requirements gathering techniques to the teams to improve end-to-end security delivery practices.
  • Advocate for and ensure appropriate security practices are communicated and implemented in all application security programs. Support adherence and awareness of these practices.
  • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for all technology initiatives by providing objectives, practice, relevant ideas, insights, and advice.
  • Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Interest in learning and applying new technologies and concepts.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments).
