    • Must possess current FAA mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
    • Six (6 ) months minimum experience in Silver Airways Tech Ops Department or one (1) year similar experience outside Silver Airways in an FAR 121 operation.

    Responsibilities:

    In addition to the above, he/she has the responsibility of assuring that the following corporate and regulatory requirements are adhered to:

    • Must immediately notify the Director of Quality Control and all other appropriate personnel of any discrepancy, condition or irregularity that may affect the airworthiness of the Company’s fleet. This notification process is not limited to the above and includes any condition that affects the overall efficiency and safety of the Company.
    • Keeps abreast of changes in the industry that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the Company and report these with recommendations to the Director of Quality Control for consideration and implementation into the Company manuals as appropriate.
    • Manages the weight and balance program for the Maintenance Depart and advises the DQC immediately of problems encountered doing so.
    • Responsible for the monitoring of those sections of the regulations delegated to them by the DQC, ie., calibration requirements, engine monitoring and any other and any other assigned duty for the entire airline system. The QCM must take the necessary action to correct any discrepancies noted.
    • Responsible for evaluating and authorizing as delegated:
      • Ferry Permits
      • Functional Check Flights
      • RII Inspector
      • Deferred Extensions
      • Short Term Escalation
      • Airworthiness Release Persons
      • Functional Check Flight Person Authorization
    • In the absence of the Director of Quality Control, the Manager of Quality Control shall assume all of the responsibilities and have the authority to direct any associated activity of the Directory of Quality Control. The authority is effective for any reference made to the duties of the DQC in any company manual; however, this authority does not include the DQC’s RII authorizations.
    • The QCM is responsible for identifying and reporting possible safety risks in maintenance operations.
    • The QCM has the authority to make decisions the affect the quality and safety of maintenance operations.
    • The Quality Control Manager will be appointed by the DQC. The Quality Control Manager must be FAA certificated, have sufficient quality control and Company procedural experience to make sound airworthiness decisions as a Quality Control representative and the DQC alternate.
    • The Quality Control Manager will review the Airworthiness Directive (AD) Database for new ADs every two (2) weeks and notify the DQC, Director of Maintenance, and MOE of the new AD. When and AD is identified as effective to Silver Airways, the Quality Control Manager will add the AD to the Airworthiness Directive (AD) and compliance list (Form 5:02:010 for each affected airframe, engine, propeller, and/or component/appliance.

    • Communicate with flight crews, maintenance control, and other maintenance personnel to ensure notification of all maintenance discrepancies are initiated and corrected in a timely manner
    • Manage all aircraft maintenance activities or any other maintenance functions assigned to him to ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements
    • The Manager must control the flow and accuracy of all paperwork and records on the aircraft that are in the work process
    • Maintain a shift log of activities and irregularities, Maintenance Control Summary, and the complete and accurate entries on the summary
    • Establish work schedules which will be adequate to meet the required production schedules
    • Coordinate with Planning and Quality Control as necessary
    • Conserve and protect Company funds, property, equipment and materials by following the budget guidelines
    • Determine and ensure the facility and all equipment/tooling is kept clean and in serviceable condition at all times
    • Lead and facilitate the physical organization and storage of inventory
    • Assume management responsibilities in connection with affectively recommending, hiring and firing of employees, promotions, and disciplining assigned personnel
    • Notify the DOM and DQC of any occurrence that is out of the normal operation and conducts other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills
    • Computer knowledge and abilities to include Data entry, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, TRAX, and SABRE systems

    Education and Experience:

    • Possess a valid Airframe and Power plant FAA Airman’s Certificate and a basic knowledge of ATR 42/72 or similar aircraft
    • Minimum 3 Years Supervisory experience

    Requirements:

    • Place orders as expressly instructed by the VP of Tech Ops
    • Maintain good housekeeping procedures in all areas assigned
    • Perform all other tasks assigned by the VP of Tech Ops
    • Identify and report possible safety risks to a member of Management.

  • Oversee capital expenditure approval process and tracking:
    Manage the submission process to finance and review the submitted capex forms
    to ensure that the information and ROI is accurate, the request is in plan, and
    the explanation is complete. Coordinate the executive review and approval
    process and routinely review the spending of the capital requests.
  • Labor and contract analysis: Routinely evaluating staffing
    models across the company to ensure staffing is timely and appropriate and
    evaluating contracts to confirm that the revenue and/or expenses are modeled
    accurately and Silver is receiving a proper return on investment.
  • Industry cost analysis: On a quarterly and ad hoc basis,
    benchmark the revenue and cost structure of similar airlines and produce a
    summary to be used in corporate presentations and preparation for the quarterly
    earnings call.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis: Deliver analyses which enable
    management to make informed decisions and support the analyses with metrics,
    variance explanations, root causes, and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Staff development: Develop a high-performing, effective,
    and motivated staff of financial analysts. Direct and coach to deliver and
