Position Summary

Working with other teams across JetBlue, the Supervisor Training Curriculum supports the College of Flight by overseeing the development and maintenance of flight training curricula, while fulfilling Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for regulatory and non-regulatory curricula in accordance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and JetBlue Airways policies, procedures and risk controls. The Supervisors partners with JBU teams and operational counterparts to identify training needs and manage the flight curriculum development process, from inception to release. The Supervisor may also provide ground instruction and/or simulator instruction and evaluations to initial, upgrading, transitioning and recurrent JetBlue Airways’ Pilots.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of College of Flight curricula by established deadlines and in accordance with Instructional Systems Design and adult learning best practices. This includes the content of courseware materials for flight training, ground training, home-study, briefings, grade forms, etc.
  • Supervises assigned team members in their duties as curriculum development Subject Matter Experts and Program Developers. Sets expectations and delegates specific curriculum development and maintenance tasks to assigned project team as needed.
  • Consults with JetBlue University support teams, College of Flight Leadership, and others to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Ensures all stakeholders are informed about project status, timelines, issues and risks.
  • In coordination with Learning Design, develops and manages a systematic approach to Curriculum Development, including the appropriate Stakeholders, from intake through development, until final publication of courseware.
  • Works with appropriate Stakeholders to secure technical support for courseware development, publication, distribution, and archiving. Works with Learning Analytics team to develop and deploy AQP grade forms
  • Coordinates with College of Flight Leadership and Training Scheduling regarding assignment of required curriculum team resources (such as team member schedules and simulator time for development/testing).
  • Coordinates with fleet College of Flight Leadership on training standards as they apply to curriculum development and maintenance.
  • Performs other curriculum-related and AQP-related tasks as assigned by College of Flight Leadership
  • May provide ground or flight instruction and/or evaluation in full flight simulators and flight training devices, if so qualified
  • Be proficient and comply with applicable SMS processes, documentation and recordkeeping requirements
  • Provide ground/classroom instruction and/or evaluations on aircraft systems, limitations and operational subjects
  • Take a significant role in the development of Crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Management, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous experience.
  • Three (3) years of training experience
  • One (1) year of experience leading or managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with education program management, adult learning principles and curriculum development
  • Experience with project management
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
  • Available for occasional domestic and international overnight travel (5%)
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Position Summary

The Airports Supervisor leads, develops, and maintains strategic relationships with JetBlue Crewmembers, internal departments, and Customers; depending on the specific station, this responsibility may extend to Business Partners as well.   • Accountable to senior leadership for monitoring and executing the safety and security programs at the station to ensure a safe and secure workplace for Crewmembers, Customers, Business Partners, aircraft, facilities, and ground service equipment (GSE) (where applicable) — responsible for meeting federal and local requirements.
  • Provides exceptional service to both internal and external customers by leading and overseeing the delivery of hospitality and JetBlue Promises, which are in line with the high expectations Customers have for JetBlue. Responsible for resolving and handling escalated issues with Customers and/or Crewmembers.
  • Supports, coaches, and trains Airports Crewmembers encourage engagement and take a significant role in their development and growth achievement through effective performance management and ongoing constructive formal and informal feedback.
  • Briefs Airports Crewmembers and/or Business Partners prior to each shift and reports all relevant information concerning shift to Crewleader on duty, including any maintenance issues or cancellations.
  • Strategically identifies operational challenges and implements improvements to maximize and ensure the success of on-time performance initiatives.
  • Supports Management in the execution of the operational strategy and assumes Manager/General Manager responsibilities when they are not available.
  • Directs and guides Airports Crewmembers through operational issues while coordinating efforts with all applicable stakeholders throughout the operation as well as Business Partners in order to ensure effective day-to-day collaboration and accountability.
  • Obtains and stays current on Airport and/or Ground Operations qualifications, as required.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with SAPQ and applicable federal regulations and standards, including escalating any non-compliance to Leadership, and advising of any other escalated operational issues while monitoring events.
  • Partners with JetBlue University including the JBU Field Educator to ensure effective training that leads to successful  Customer interactions and upholds safety standards
  • Evaluates daily Crewmember shift schedules and assignments to ensure maximum efficiency during regular and irregular operations.  Must be able to stay ahead of any potential staffing challenges during both regular and irregular operations. Additionally, Supervisor should be able to plot and assign Crewmembers to all applicable areas as needed.
  • Required to fulfill frontline duties and assist in supporting Frontline CMs as needed
  • Administrative support may be assigned, depending on station size

Supervisor, Airport Operations (Domestic)

Position Summary

The Airports Supervisor leads, develops and maintains strategic relationships with JetBlue Crewmembers, internal departments, and Customers; depending on the specific station, this responsibility may extend to Business Partners as well. The Supervisor serves Airports Crewmembers as well as Business Partners, when applicable, through timely coaching and mentoring, ultimately contributing to the successful development of a growing team environment. The Supervisor will collaborate and partner closely with Manager(s) in the execution of the operational strategy to ensure success of our Customer interactions, control costs, drive revenue, and uphold safety standards.

The Airports Supervisors is a leadership role, directly overseeing and supporting Crewmembers responsible for the execution of JetBlue’s Airport operation

  • The Airports Operations team is responsible for safely performing all processes above the wing, where required, including but not limited to Customer check-in, tagging and accepting baggage, boarding of flights, connecting Customers, irregular operations, station operations, and Baggage Service Office (BSO).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accountable to senior leadership for monitoring and executing the safety and security programs at the station to ensure a safe and secure workplace for Crewmembers, Customers, Business Partners, aircraft, facilities, and ground service equipment (GSE) (where applicable) — responsible for meeting federal and local requirements.
  • Provides exceptional service to both internal and external Customers by leading and overseeing the delivery of hospitality and JetBlue Promises, which are in-line with the high expectations Customers have for JetBlue. Responsible for resolving and handling escalated issues with Customers and/or Crewmembers.
  • Supports, coaches, and trains Airports Crewmembers, encourages engagement, and takes a significant role in their development and growth achievement through effective performance management and ongoing constructive formal and informal feedback.
  • Briefs Airports Crewmembers and/or Business Partners prior to each shift and reports all relevant information concerning shift to Crewleader on duty, including any maintenance issues or cancellations.
  • Strategically identifies operational challenges and implement improvements to maximize and ensure success of on-time performance initiatives.
  • Supports Management in the execution of the operational strategy and assumes Manager/General Manager responsibilities when they are not available.
  • Directs and guides Airports Crewmembers through operational issues while coordinating efforts with all applicable stakeholders throughout the operation as well as Business Partners in order to ensure effective day-to-day collaboration and accountability.
  • Obtains and stays current on Airport and/or Ground Operations qualifications, as required.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with SAPQ and applicable federal regulations and standards, including escalating any non-compliance to Leadership, and advising of any other escalated operational issues while monitoring events.
  • Partners with JetBlue University including the JBU Field Educator to ensure effective training that leads to successful  Customer interactions and upholds safety standards
  • Evaluates daily Crewmember shift schedules and assignments to ensure maximum efficiency during regular and irregular operations.  Must be able to stay ahead of any potential staffing challenges during both regular and irregular operations. Additionally, Supervisor should be able to plot and assign Crewmembers to all applicable areas as needed.
  • Required to fulfill frontline duties and assist in supporting Frontline CMs as needed
  • Administrative support may be assigned, depending on station size
  • Other duties as assigned, including special projects.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Three (3) years of Customer service, sales, or airline experience, OR one (1) year JetBlue CEX experience
  • Able to stand continuously up to four (4) hours at a time
  • Proficient in written and verbal English
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Able to travel and/or work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to perform under pressure and fixed time constraints
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft office
  • Must be able to use handheld radios and microphones to communicate with operations and make all terminal announcements
  • Able to work with various forms of payment (cash, credit cards, travelers checks, etc)
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
