Position Summary
The Investor Relations (“IR”) department is responsible for positioning and communicating Hawaiian Airlines’ (the “Company’s”) story and investment proposition to investors and the financial community.
The Senior Analyst, Investor Relations, is a highly-motivated individual that combines financial analysis, accounting, communication, and problem-solving skills to work across multiple departments to analyze the financial performance and outlook of the Company and its industry peers. This individual has strong analytical skills, an acute attention to detail, and an ability to prioritize and multitask work in a highly-visible, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The Senior Analyst, Investor Relations, works under the immediate direction of the Managing Director, Investor Relations, while simultaneously interacting with, and taking additional direction from, the Company’s senior management who frequently interact with investors and the financial community.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in positioning and communicating the Company’s story and investment proposition
- Develop a solid understanding of the Company and its strategy and competitive positioning
- Generate and accumulate supporting documents and information in preparation of calendar-driven events (e.g., annual Investor Day, quarterly earnings call and earnings release, monthly operating statistic reports, periodic investor meetings and roadshows, etc.).
- Assist with the preparation of monthly IR (and other Finance) internal and external reporting and presentations
- Provide insight to senior management about perspectives on the Company’s performance, both individually and relative to its peers
- Monitor and distribute sell-side analyst research notes on the Company to senior management in a timely manner
- Obtain and evaluate quarterly sell-side analyst earnings models and generate consensus estimates
- Analyze, summarize, and report competitive financial and operational results and forecasts to senior management on both an ongoing and ad hoc basis
- Maintain the continued confidence and credibility in the Company’s IR department
- Build strong relationships across internal departments to coordinate the flow of information necessary to facilitate IR processes
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., sell-side and buy-side analysts, investors, etc.), including researching and responding to analyst and investor inquiries
- Establish a reputation for clear, consistent, transparent, and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field. Proven ability to understand and analyze financial statements (e.g., Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, etc.).
- Ability to assess strong situational awareness, able to work under pressure, well-organized, and an ability to think and work independently.
- Excellent inter-personal skills, including strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, especially building financial models in Microsoft Excel and presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Must be willing to work outside typical business hours when required for certain calendar-driven events.
- Must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire
