    What the position is
    The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for developing programs and training for all health and safety issues and for ensuring that the company remains in compliance with governmental health and safety standards, regulations, and reporting requirements. The EH&S Manager conducts investigations, audits, and facility inspections monitor compliance with established standards and practices and analyze data pertaining to injuries, health impairment, environmental impact, and regulatory deficiencies to make recommendations for corrective actions. The EH&S Manager ensures accurate and complete EH&S reporting of metrics and closure of EH&S investigations, acts as a liaison with public and governmental authorities, and directs actions during a crisis.
    Essential functions:
    • Conducts regular audits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure that the company remains in compliance with current environmental health and safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices
    • Ensures that current and evolving NFPA, EPA, OSHA, FAA, DOT, and IATA/ICAO regulations and any other environmental health and safety standards and regulations are followed and that reporting requirements are met
    • Trains and motivates people in environmental health and safety practices and behaviors
    • Identifies problem areas and works on process improvements
    • Collects, tracks, reports, and analyzes key EHS performance data and metrics
    • Assists department managers in developing solutions to health and safety issues
    • Provides operational leadership for the EH&S Program
    • Maintains an inventory of products and components subject to HAZMAT and Dangerous Goods regulations
    • Monitors and reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance (identification, classification, packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation) with regulations for the transportation of Dangerous Goods (DG)
    • Provides day-to-day regulatory guidance on HAZMAT and Dangerous Goods packaging specifications, marking, labeling, and shipping documents
    • Collaborates with all entities of the organization subject to NFPA, EPA, OSHA, DOT, IATA/ICAO, and any other governmental EH&S regulations
    • Interfaces with vendors as well as local, state, and federal officials to respond to questions or resolve issues relating to EH&S issues
    • Partners with Quality Assurance to assist with a regulatory agency and other third-party audits related to the movement of dangerous goods
    • Conducts investigations of suspected irregularities related to EH&S incidents
    • Assists the Maintenance Department with the development and documentation of Hazardous Materials processes to ensure that corporate policies are complied with
    • Works with Maintenance Base Managers to ensure oversight of OSHA Hazardous Materials standards as well as EPA ADWR and RCRA laws and regulations
    • Performs additional duties as required
     General requirements & qualifications:
    • Two years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of work and/or life experience, formal education, and/or on-the-job training)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a health and safety field preferred
    • Baseline computer skills
    • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods & DOT Regulations
    • JHA experience required
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with regulatory agencies and business leaders
    • Discretion of confidential or sensitive information
    • Capable of multitasking and working with changing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders
    • Ability to read, write and speak English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of CommutAir
    • Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
    • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis, Risk Analysis, and Safety Risk Assessment
    • Ability to conduct investigations, analyze data, determine root causes and develop mitigation techniques and corrective actions

    What the position is
    The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible to provide oversight of assigned personnel to ensure surveillance activities comply with the requirements of FAR 121.373. The Quality Assurance Manager will have the authority to conduct fact-finding investigations.
    Essential functions:
    • Monitor the operation to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies/procedures
    • Ensure direct reports have completed all required training courses
    • Notify the Director of Quality of critical findings to initiate an immediate investigation
    • Review internal and external audit schedule needs
    • Coordinate Quality Auditor work assignments
    • Oversee the scheduling, performance, follow-up, and closure of the audit types listed below:
      • On-site Contact Maintenance Providers (with additional authorization)
      • Mail out Contract Maintenance Providers
      • C.A.S.E allocated
      • Distributors & Suppliers
      • Fuel Provider and Fuel Storage Vendor
      • Internal company audits to support the CAMP
      • Special Audits
    • Maintain the audit database and trending programs
    • Prepare comprehensive evaluation/audit reports
    • Track, and trend findings and corrective actions
    • Perform special evaluations in response to identified trends or concerns for which management has requested an independent analysis and development of solutions for review
    • Perform investigations of accidents, incidents, etc. at the request of the Director of Quality/Chief Inspector
    • Conduct training for auditing, investigation, safety, and quality concepts and techniques
    • Train direct reports as outlined in the Company Maintenance Training Manual
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality/Chief Inspector
     General requirements & qualifications:
    • Have an appropriate level of knowledge regarding Federal Aviation Regulations, Company Manuals, company procedures, and Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS)
    • Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license
    • Level 3 C.A.S.E. certification, or equivalent industry experience
    • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification preferred
    • Have the ability to travel internationally without restrictions. Up to 80% of travel is expected including air travel and driving long distances if needed
    • Perform system analysis and present quality improvement processes
    • Satisfactory knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment & technologies
    • Ability to working in various environments including outside during inclement weather. Must be able to climb on a ladder and utilize safety equipment
