Outcomes   and Responsibilities

Administrate the aircraft maintenance tracking software, AMOS by Swiss AS, including data entry,  support and process improvement. Manage the Aircraft Records Department including administration of crewmembers and aircraft records to include development of process and procedures.

Performance   Measures

  • 1) Facilitate the timely, successful deployment of properly configured software applications (AMOS)
  •  Liaise with software provider, users and sponsors to   develop and execute software deployments
  • 2) Provide timely resolution of actionable software issues and development of plans to address more difficult software application and support issues
  • Effectively interface between users, the company and software vendors assure resolution of near term and longer-term actionable issues
  • 3) Assure the appropriate training and support is made available to the users so they can take full advantage of the functionality the software application offers
  •  Assist in the development of training material and delivery
  • 4) Assure selected software is used in an efficient, effective manner and delivers the intended operational benefits to the company

Outcomes and Responsibilities Include:

Purpose: Our Payroll Manager is a key member of our Accounting team leading the development and execution of Avelo’s payroll processes (our current system is Paylocity).  You will work closely with members of the People team to ensure crewmembers’ payroll information and paychecks are timely, complete and accurate, build trust with our crewmembers  by resolving their payroll related inquiries, meet all federal, state, and local tax regulatory requirements, and prepare payroll related journal entries.

Outcomes and Responsibilities:

1) Day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of payroll, including: Processing of semi-monthly and ad hoc payrolls and preparation of payroll related journal entries. Process taxable benefits, such as stock-based compensation transactions. Reconciliation of payroll, payroll tax, and accrued benefits accounts. Handle pay levies, wage garnishments, or any other payments as required. Ensure all government reporting requirements, regulations and compliance for payroll taxes and withholdings are met.

2) Play a key role in scaling the Company’s payroll infrastructure, including the development, documentation, and implementation of payroll business processes.  Collaborate with Paylocity and other Avelo crewmembers in the design, implementation and documentation of these processes.

3) Collaborate with the People team to validate changes to compensation, benefits elections, and other deductions and accurately account for employee benefits such as 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance.

4) Support crewmembers as the primary point of contact regarding crewmember payroll-related inquiries, including, but not limited to, hours, statutory pay and related rules, deductions, payroll taxes, per diems, etc.

5) Support business and external users of payroll information with standard and ad hoc reporting requirements as needed in a confidential manner, including assistant with annual financial statement and regulatory audits.

Requirements

 

Functional Competencies

Demonstrated ability to implement and effectively use an HRIS/payroll system.

Strong knowledge of effective payroll processes and continuous improvement, including knowledge of state and federal employment tax requirements.

Experience with payroll taxability of stock-based compensation.

Demonstrated experience providing analysis from disparate systems and providing concise and meaningful insights from the data.

Proficiency within Microsoft Office, including Excel, SharePoint, Word and Outlook.

Prior experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations. Experience with NetSuite and Paylocity is a plus.
