  • Responsible for supervising the daily operation, training, quality control and scheduling functions of Central Load Planning (CLP) ensuring weight & balance functions are at the highest level of safety. Responsible for on-time performance and collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders including airports, flight dispatch, Operations Engineering, cargo, and the FAA. Oversees the CLP Safety Management System, CLP ASAP and Safety Assurance (SA) programs, time and attendance functions, coordinates operational research, and resolution of weight and balance issues during time critical phases of departure. Performs coaching and counseling for IAM Represented employees.

What you’ll do

  • Supervises Lead Agents and Load Planners and coordinates CLP policies & procedures with cross-functional teams and internal and external departments in support of the AA operation
  • Maintains time & attendance records, personnel files, performance records and assists with hiring of Load Planners
  • Conducts the Quality Control and Safety Assurance Program for Central Load Planning
  • Supervises the CLP ASAP and SA programs including auditor scheduling, selection, and audit program development
  • Reviews and analyzes safety assurance data to improve department productivity & efficiency
  • Develops and executes applicable bids for CLP Supervisors, Lead Agents, and Load Planners
  • Responsible for workload allocation and desk coverage
  • Responsible for coaching and counseling for IAM Represented employees and adhering to Fleet Service contractual language in the daily oversight of Central Load Planning
  • Interprets company policies for team members and enforces safety regulations
  • Oversees CLP training programs, including initial, recurrent, and monthly exams
  • Develops, maintains, and updates curriculum, course materials, facilitator’s guides, and training booklets for in class and on the job training
  • Develops and maintains departmental manuals including CLPOM and Load Planner desk reference
  • Coordinates with IOC Business Technology and AA IT on implementation, development, and training of applicable safety protocols and automation updates
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 3 years of related job experience
  • 1 year of leadership experience
  • 1 year of experience with FOS and/or PSS
  • Familiarity in a union environment

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Working knowledge of Load Planning System
  • Prior training experience
  • 2 years of project management experience
  • Experience with the AA Safety Management System (SMS) including ASAP and/or LOSA
  • Thorough familiarity with all aspects of AA operations, policies, and procedures
  • Previous experience conducting operational research

What you’ll do

  • Assists Management in evaluating Plant Maintenance employees and vendors for qualifications, experience levels, facilities, parts support and overall ability to comply with Facility maintenance department programs and procedures
  • Makes technical recommendations regarding facilities/ (GSE) department, review contracts and vendor quotes for accuracy and correct job scope
  • Initiates and manages repair work orders for time and material vendors as per the outlined procedures
  • Reviews vendor invoices for correct labor and material charges
  • Informs Station Management of Facilities abuse related damage and accident repair cost
  • Assists local station management, personnel and vendors with part procurement and technical expertise to expedite repairs
  • Works with station personnel and vendors for product improvement and equipment upgrades. Provide vendors with direction to enhance the operation and improve cost efficiencies
  • Performs Facilities, station, and vendor audits to ensure compliance with all Facilities Maintenance policies, procedures and standards
  • Completes other duties as assigned by management
  • Some travel may be required

  • Must pass a background for SIDA badge, if applicable

  • This job is a member of the Maintenance Control Team acting as a liaison to Hub Line / Hangar Operations.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, oversight, direction to assigned Maintenance Control Technicians (MCT) with focus on line maintenance deferral management and oversight.
  • This job supports the action and responsibilities of the Manager, Maintenance Control (MOD).

What you’ll do

  • Collaborates with line maintenance management while serving as key liaison to Integrated Operations Center (IOC) departments.
  • Provides surveillance of out of service events and coordinate troubleshooting recommendations to support expedited return to service.
  • In conjunction with MCTs assigned, ensures station primary assigned deferrals (e.g. MELs, CDLs, NEFs) are reviewed to ensure required resources (e.g. Parts, tooling, consumables, and estimated ground time / manhours) are properly identified and resourced through coordination with Planning, Routing, and Supply Chain.
  • Coordinates on secondary assigned deferrals (e.g. MONs, TSIs, TACs,) to ensure clear work scope expectations.
  • Champions and promotes focus on key deferral groupings (e.g. Restrictive MELs, APUs, WIFI / IFE, Most Placarded Aircraft)
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent related experience/training.
  • 3 years experience in commercial airline maintenance operations. This could be Line or Base maintenance and prior Maintenance Control (or combination thereof).

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) experience.
  • Experience with AA maintenance procedures and familiar with regulatory requirements.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Must possess a current FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) certification.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and use of digital technical manuals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must be capable of operating in a fast paced, time constrained environment.
  • Must have verbal and Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques.

  • Responsible for providing direct supervision to Planners regarding company policy/procedures.
