  • Review new customer requests for queuing needs
  • Design and implement the queue managers in non-prod and production environments
  • Migrate subscribers between MQ platforms.
  • Administration, installation and configuration of IBM Web Sphere MQ product
  • Create documentation and release notes.

Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments
Encourage an environment of sharing and team work,  Provide guidance to lower level technicians and assist when and where necessary
Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements
Stay current with the latest trends in Message Oriented Middleware products, both Off-Prem in the cloud and On-Prem.  Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs
Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines for Message Oriented Middleware products.
Support communication and response by responding to users on system issues, maintenance, and advising and escalating on any prolonged or major issues.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Work with application development teams in an agile software development environment.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM Web Sphere MQ
    • MQ-based development and design
    • MQ series deployment and configuration management

    • MQ Services Application Integration
    • Administration, installation and configuration of IBM Web Sphere MQ product.
  • JAVA Coding Experience, installation and configuration of Open source Messaging products like RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ or Kafka
  • 3+ years of experience working in a challenging environment with the technical architecture of a large enterprise.
  • A team player who works and communicates well with technical and non-technical resources. Excellent oral and written communication skills and possess the ability to work with limited direction while being highly productive.

What you’ll do

Commitment: 6-7-month term January-August or June-December

Locations: Technical Operations Facilities in Tulsa, OK, Charlotte, NC, and Fort Worth, TX

Entry level Engineering duties within the following departments. Typically, the assigned department manager pairs each Co-Op with a mentor.

  • Fleet Engineering – this department maintains and supports aircraft systems, structures, interiors, avionics, and inflight entertainment maintenance programs including repair, assembly, inspection and modification of aircraft and component parts. Fleet Engineers develop maintenance programs and specifications, investigate reliability problems, and design/develop corrective actions and programs. Engineers also provide technical interface with manufacturers and suppliers regarding repairs, design, improvements, and new equipment requirements.
  • Powerplant Engineering – this department maintains and supports maintenance programs for aircraft turbine engines including repair, assembly, inspection, and test of engines, component parts, and accessories. Powerplant Engineers determine economic feasibility, develop repairs and repair processes of existing unserviceable turbine engine hardware. These Engineers will handle failure analysis, repair development, scrap review, engineering research, technical and economic decisions related to repair and maintenance of turbine engines and components.

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate Engineering degree program. Engineering majors considered include: Aeronautical/Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Metallurgical and Civil Engineering.
  • Successful completion of sophomore year or approximately 60 hours towards a Bachelor Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5.
  • Eligibility to work permanently in the United States.
  • Passing of a drug screen and background check provided by AA.
  • Availability for two work cycles (or at least 3 semesters) is preferred.

Upon assignment, the Flight Simulator Engineer will perform development and installation of lesson plans, perform hardware and software design, and will participate with vendor and other Company technical personnel in developing new and/or modified equipment design specifications with the objective of improving the realism, operation, reliability, and ease of maintenance of the equipment. Where it pertains to component level repair, overhaul or adjustment, equipment classified as airworthy under FAA order number 8130 is excluded.

  • Provides technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs
  • Provides work deviation authorizations, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders
  • Provides options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact
  • Provides aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Base Maintenance
  • Attends daily production meetings and pre-induction meetings to ensure timely support
  • Provides on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged line aircraft throughout the system
  • Participates, as necessary, in aircraft recoveries and “GO TEAM” duties
  • Coordinates events/issues with American Airlines Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up
  • Monitors trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action. Develops American Airlines AARDs (Typical Repairs) and manual supplements to eliminate repetitive EA requests
  • Must be willing and able to work irregular hours and shift schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to travel

  • Performs discovery scanning via the Vulnerability Management Platform (scheduled and ad-hoc)
  • Categorizes network nodes so that further vulnerability scanning can be focused on “Enterprise” services
  • Provides gap analysis to compare the list of known resources so gaps can be investigated and owners identified
  • Identifies resource types (e.g. router, desktop computer, server, network switch, firewall, etc.), operating systems, and whether active services are “Enterprise” level
  • Tracks via remediation management system and provides a wiki-style format to capture recommendation, analysis and facts, and links to other research
  • Populates data visualization tool (such as Tableau and Hygieia) for reporting vulnerability metrics by system and owner
  • Researches vulnerabilities to determine attack vectors and possible vulnerable targets and launches specific scans and reports for that vulnerability in VM scanning tool(s)
