    Role Summary

    This role oversees the execution of the daily training operation by mentoring, coaching and facilitating Flight Attendant Instructors, students, and line Flight Attendants at Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, the Supervisor Inflight Training leads and establishes priorities for the team to ensure training operations are safe, compliant and are a remarkable experience for employees and trainees across six training locations.

    Additional Requirement

    Support the operations by assuming the Supervisor Inflight position when the training needs are low or assigned by Inflight management. The Supervisor Inflight oversees the daily operation of Inflight Bases, ensuring performance objectives are met including safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Duties

    • Lead team and establish priorities regarding daily operations including staffing, scheduling and ensuring compliance to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)/ Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and department procedures.
    • Supervise the development, design, and delivery of FAA required and optional Flight Attendant training, including create all inflight training calendars.
    • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, managing performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management.
    • Influence culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
    • Plans, develops, and implements staff development programs such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
    • Consults with Inflight Training Development & Policy and Procedure to ensure consistent application of all training curricula, and supporting training budget development and adherence.
    • Selects, mentors and supports over 100 flight attendant instructors in six training locations across five states.
    • Leads, develops and supports and manages performance of over 220 learners daily.
    • Oversees administration of 75 Check Flight Attendants as part of the Check Flight Attendant and Probationary Observation program.
    • Travels to deliver training and provide leadership support at remote locations as necessary.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • A minimum of 3 years of airline experience leading people or projects.
    • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Must successfully complete Flight Attendant Initial Training (if not already qualified as an AS Flight Attendant) and maintain certification as a Flight Attendant.
    • Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication at all levels in the organization.
    • Ability to communicate in an engaging and motivating manner to audiences of up to 100 people.
    • Ability to lead complex program efforts to completion while managing multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated track record of effectively leading/working with cross-functional teams, driving meaningful changes, and developing and mentoring others.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability and willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
    • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum age of 21.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Preferred

    • Been part of a training program development or delivery experience.

    • Monitors inspection forms, work orders, and all paperwork as well as inventory to ensure the prompt requisition of materials.
    • Checks the accuracy of all log sheets.
    • Accurately estimates maintenance delays and advises others of delays.
    • Enforces all safety rules and encourages and promotes safety awareness to all assigned personnel.
    • Complies with the provisions of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternity Association Agreement and address any concerns or issues.

    Required

    • 3 years of experience in Aircraft Systems.
    • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

    The Stations Regional Supervisor is a key informational and operational liaison for all Frontier Airlines departments and multiple cities, both seasonal and year-round, in countries served by the airline.  The Stations Regional Supv will be the primary Frontier Airlines representative to both the airport and business partner for the stations within their region. This position ensures operational integrity for daily operations and oversees seasonal openings and closing of locations. Working closely with the Stations Regional Mgrs, as well as the Sr Director, Airport Operations, the Director, Stations, and other Frontier department directors, this position performs a key leadership function.  The Stations Regional Supv reports directly to a Stations Regional Manager or Stations City Manager, and has regular interaction with the officers and directors at Frontier Airlines.

    Essential Functions

    • Safety – Be a champion for safety through accountability, awareness and communication. Ensure that all employees, direct and business partner, understand the importance of safety and require that they conduct themselves in manner that reflects this value and enhances the level of safety of the company.
    • Fiscal Responsibility – Develop and manage operational budgets with accuracy.  Continuously strive to lower or maintain already low costs to better the company’s position as an Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier.
    • Effective Communication – Interact with the officers and directors of the company on a consistent basis. Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic and operational planning input for the Customer Service Division, as well as the company.  Report progress and results to senior management on a regular basis to keep them informed about the status of the operation and initiatives that are being undertaken.
    • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure compliance with all airline and government agency regulations and protocols. Monitor compliance to all FAA safety-related, and TSA security-related regulations. Establish sound working relationships with FAA, TSA, Customs, Immigrations, airport authorities, business partners, etc., and providing oversight of all services for the cities in the region.  Ensure all international requirements are met and complied with, working with CBP and governments where necessary to procure rights and slots.
    • Vision – Keep an open mind to new ideas and ways of conducting business, while focusing on the company’s goals and business plan. Foster an environment where employee suggestions are vetted and implemented when in line with the company’s direction.
    • Visible and Active Leadership – Be a willing, motivational leader who seeks out opportunities to get in front of employees and business partner employees and business partner leadership to establish excellent two-way communication and manage the flow of correspondence to and from the stations.  Be a role model for others to follow.  Guide business partners as they lead the day-to-day operations of their stations.
    • Availability – Be available anytime during station operations.  This includes, but is not limited to phone calls, texts, and email responses in real time.
    • Data Analysis – Can interpret and pull reports from the multiple company reporting platforms.  This would be shared with your stations to ensure maxim improvement in operations.
    • Business Partner Satisfaction – Ensure each city in the region is led by motivated, energetic, polished, professional business managers and supervisors who focus on safety, communication, employee satisfaction, fiscal performance, operational integrity and common sense.
    • Reward and recognition – identify successes and seek ways to recognize superior performance while ensuring high standards for performance are set and maintained.
    • Appearance – Ensure an equally high standard is set regarding the appearance of our business partners, facilities and equipment.
    • Quality Assurance – Manage the contractual requirements of the stations, ensuring that the local management is adhering to the standards set.  Monitor compliance with all training, safety, financial and operational goals, ensuring that business partners understand and perform to the level of expectation and operational excellence defined by the company.
    • Technology – Assist in the assessment, justification, implementation, and performance of technology to make our stations as efficient as possible, working with the Information Technologies division (IT).

    Other Functions 

    • Ensure quarterly Loadmaster list is posted and current in each location at the start of every quarter.
    • Work directly with the CS Training Manager during the development of training courses to ensure quality control and effectiveness of all training.
    • Manage special projects and committees.
    • Perform other functions as indicated by the Director, Stations, Stations City Mgr or Stations Regional Mgr.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role involving regulated airline operations
    • Previous City Manager or Supervisor experience preferred

    • Must have high level of initiative, strong team building skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to teach others leadership techniques and a complete understanding of station management responsibilities.  Must have a desire to serve others and travel flexibility.  Must be self-motivated, a good listener, innovative, and a teacher.

    • Ensures compliance with all items related to Flight Attendant (FA) Worker’s Comp claims from start to finish. Reviews and provides recommendations, and implement policies and procedures related to compliance and reliability issues. Monitors and administrates investigation of OSHA-recordable events.

    • Supervises, trains, develops, and contributes subject matter expertise to ensure procedures compliance and that all employees are performing to expectations.
    • Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records.
    • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
    • Prepares and reviews journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts associated with cargo and fuel transactions.
    • Compile financial data to ensure the proper accounting treatment of both cargo revenue and revenue-related transactions, in a compliant, complete, accurate, and timely manner.
    • Make decisions in support of fuel vendor contracts, FBO contracts, and Consortiums in regard to best location pricing, as well as the most advantageous tax treatment.
    • Evaluate opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency of team duties.
    • Reviews monthly financial performance with department leadership to identify key variances, trends, and potential issues that may impact the financial performance or accuracy of cargo revenue.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 3 years of Accounting experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in accounting or related area, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to effectively interface with all levels in the organization.
    • Demonstrates and maintains advanced knowledge of company policies.
    • Ability to initiate and facilitate on-going changes to automate and enhance department procedures.

As a people leader, the Supervisor Station Operations leads and establishes priorities for Customer Service Agents (CSAs) and assists with customer relations to ensure passenger service standards are maintained or exceeded.Key Duties
    • Supervise the execution of the timeline and regulatory compliance at departure gates.
    • Investigate and report delays and irregular flight activity and proposes solutions for how to avoid such delays in the future.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are available and working for employees to perform job functions effectively and remove other obstacles facing work groups (i.e., follow-up with ICS, facilities and airport as needed).
    • Monitor compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and company regulations and periodically review applicable documents.
    • Supervise ticketing, enplaning/deplaning activities, customer relations, passenger security, internal security, load planning, weight/balance, baggage handling procedures, servicing, and implement plans and schedules to ensure the availability of equipment.
    • Supervise customer relations (e.g., passenger complaints, lost and found, special passenger arrangements) and ensure passenger service standards are maintained or exceeded.
    • Supervise all CSAs (e.g., counter, baggage, gates, departure coordinators, vendor oversight) in scheduling, training, attendance, discipline, contract administration, and performance.
    • Develop CSAs through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, managing performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management.
    • Influence culture of the station through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
    • Represent AS Airport Operations & Customer Service at various meetings with the Port and other airlines.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • A minimum of 3 years of operations experience.
    • A Bachelor’s degree, or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Ability to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup and with other internal departments and teams.
    • Proven ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with others.
    • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule (e.g., weekends, holidays, and non-standard shifts).
    • Depending upon your work location, you may be required to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum age of 18.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 3 years of experience in maintenance on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station.
    • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Airframe & Powerplant License and have held these ratings for at least 3 years.
    • Excellent professional and communication skills to support leadership.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to meet assigned project deadlines with self-directed decision-making confidence.
