Role Summary The Training Content Developer DOE solves training needs at Alaska Airlines (AS) and Horizon Air (QX). As an individual contributor, this role focuses on revising, updating and supporting instructor lesson plans and Learning modules for blended learning experiences.
Key Duties
- In the entry level, under the direction of the Instructional Designer (ISD) or Supervisor, you will develop design specifications, storyboards and interactions, and write and revise content deliverables (e.g. online course materials, job aides, classroom materials).
- In the intermediate level, under limited direction from leadership, you will work independently to apply current instructional design methodologies and technologies to develop and revise content for multiple modalities, including eLearning, instructor lead and distance learning programs.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Entry Level
Required
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in learning, curriculum design, education, communications or a related discipline, or 2 years of experience in training and/or learning development in lieu of this degree.
- Experience with one or more eLearning authoring tools, such as: Articulate Storyline 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Thorough understanding of training modalities and learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to guide discussions on unfamiliar topics.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain and adhere to project and individual schedules with minimal supervision.
- Ability to quickly analyze the impact of development changes on content development projects and adjust workload appropriately.
- Ability to create compelling visual designs for training that are functional and engaging.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Intermediate Level
Required
- 2 years of experience in adult learning solutions or related area.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on instructional design, education, communications or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Experience with one or more eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Experience with image/graphic/video creation and manipulation, and related tools.
- Thorough understanding of learning modalities and adult learning styles.
- Ability to maintain and adhere to project and individual schedules with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
