    Role Summary

    The Revenue Management Analyst works on a fast-paced team whose responsibilities include analyzing changes in market conditions such as capacity, schedules and fare changes. The Revenue Management team will make decisions in the development, implementation, and tracking of appropriate inventory allocation strategies and provide recommendations to generate revenue and push the business forward.

    Key Duties

    • In the entry level, under general supervision, you will analyze moderately complex markets and provide input into the design and implementation of demand forecast adjustments.
    • In the intermediate level you will use a solid understanding of revenue management principles to analyze market conditions, adjust overbooking levels and historical no-shows, communicate overbooking strategies, and make recommendations for an approach to appropriate inventory allocation strategies.
    • In the senior level, as a subject matter expert in analyzing changes in market conditions, you will apply deep knowledge to determine an approach to ambiguous business challenges, be accountable to meeting/exceeding unit revenue goals and KPI’s, and exercise considerable judgement on inventory strategy decisions that you will communicate across the company.

    Entry Level

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration, economics, statistics, mathematics, industrial engineering or a related discipline, or 2 years of experience in analytics or related area in lieu of this degree.

    • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

    Role Summary

    The Fraud and Revenue Analyst is responsible for developing solutions to proactively detect and prevent financial fraud in all sales channels and accounts at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve existing fraud detection practices and minimize fraud related revenue losses to the company.

    Key Duties

    • With limited direction from a manager, work independently to monitor & research customer payment records, utilizing various tools and work queues to investigate and validate transactions.
    • Takes initiative to develop solutions to complex problems as they relate to ticket fraud prevention, including, but not limited to, gathering personal information from customers to help identify discrepancies and/or eliminate suspicion.
    • Make recommendations to streamline or enhance existing policies/procedures, stay ahead of continuously evolving fraud practices, and further protect guest data.
    • Adept at navigating through various scenarios and being solution-oriented during conflict resolution. Willing to apply excellent customer service skills while having difficult conversations with guests, cardholders & Mileage plan (MP) members.
    • Ability to thrive in a team environment, working closely with peers to analyze fraud trends, explore innovative ways to reduce risk, and make recommendations on rules adjustment with fraud tools.
    • Collaborates with counterparts including banks, merchants, peers, and other internal teams to detect fraud and eliminate risks within the organization.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 2 years of experience in fraud prevention, revenue protection, airline industry experience or related area.
    • Bachelor’s degree with Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field, or an additional two years of training/experience required in lieu of this degree.
    • Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal & written customer service skills.
    • Moderate knowledge of fraud prevention and detection best practices.
    • Capable of working both independently and in collaborative group settings.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of rule-based fraud programs/platforms.

    Alaska Airlines is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis team. This team is a trusted partner for senior leadership driving change and moving the business forward in a highly visible role. As a member of our FP&A team you will find talented individuals who embody the Alaska spirit, demand high performance, and deliver results to our internal customers. The ideal candidate is optimistic, open minded and curious, comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment, and understands airline business is won and lost on the margins. Therefore, we are constantly striving to do a little bit better while driving costs down.

    As a member of the FP&A team, this Analyst works in a fast-paced, high-exposure team whose responsibilities include financial analysis, 3-year metrics reporting, key performance indicator modeling, competitive analysis and industry benchmarking, and what-if scenarios. The FP&A team will develop, manage, and maintain models to support company activities. The team also coordinates monthly close process for various divisions where needed, including accruals, PO system management, invoice review and research, and data entry into relevant support databases/models. The team assists and guides cost center managers with individual problems of planning, cost control, budget preparation, variance research and business case preparation. You must be able to lead and drive completion, finance projects and initiatives of varying scopes and sizes.

    Key Duties

    • In the FP&A I, under general supervision, you will analyze financial data and make recommendations for moderately complex business problems and provide input into solutions.
    • In the FP&A II you will use solid understanding of financial fundamentals to analyze data, make recommendations for approach to solutions and make recommendations for solutions to complex business problems.

    • Serves as Accelya Product Suite (Revera, Mozart, Vivaldi) subject matter expert.
    • Supports the Accelya Product Suite by performing all phases of application testing including system, integration, parallel; ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Leads process improvement by investigating, identifying, and implementing Accelya Product Suite features; identifying areas where business processes can be improved by the delivered features.
    • Creates and maintains business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional specification documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documentation as necessary.

    • Displays ability to easily balance the big picture (strategic vision) of the organization with the day to day operations or projects.

    • Liaises with finance, technical support, and data teams, to resolve complex system errors/inquiries.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 4 years of experience as a business/systems analyst supporting enterprise level Finance Systems.
    • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Thorough understanding of the business; Financial Reporting or Accounting.
    • Experience with SQL.
    • Experience in data query tools such SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), TOAD Datapoint, Alteryx, Access, Tableau, etc.
    • Ability to quickly learn processes and systems and recommend appropriate changes, to gain stakeholder buy-in.
    • Proven conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results.
    • A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and excels with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage multiple, concurrent tasks.
    • A strong disposition for customer service supported by excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
    • Willingness to learn from and return value to Finance stakeholders by working collaboratively with others and as part of a team.
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum age of 18.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Preferred

    • Airline experience.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Product Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Proficient in SQL.
    • Working knowledge of database architecture.
    • Experience with Accelya Product Suite (Revera, Mozart, Vivaldi).
