    Role Summary

    The Pricing Analyst works on a fast-paced team whose responsibilities include analyzing changes in market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedules and inventory. The pricing team makes decisions in the development, implementation and tracking of appropriate pricing strategies, and provides recommendations to generate revenue and push the business forward.

    Key Duties

    • In the entry level, under general supervision, the Pricing Analyst I analyzes and prices a $1B scope of markets using complex data tools and sources.
    • In the intermediate level, the Pricing Analyst II leverages proficiency with pricing tools, processes, systems and revenue management principles to analyze market conditions and competition, and develop advanced pricing solutions within an increasingly complex scope of high profile Alaska Air Group (AAG) markets. This role is also responsible for supporting the analysis and execution of one of our revenue generating fare products (Saver, Premium Class, First Class, Dynamic Pricing, etc.) using BI skills to model and analyze results and make suggestions to drive revenue.
    • In the senior level, as a subject matter expert in pricing, the Pricing Analyst III determines an effective approach to ambiguous business challenges within a complex scope of markets, is accountable to meeting/exceeding unit revenue goals and KPIs, and exercises considerable judgement to make and communicate pricing decisions across the company. This role is also responsible for leading the analysis and execution of one or our revenue generating fare products (Saver, Premium Class, First Class, Dynamic Pricing, etc.) using BI skills to model, analyze and build dashboards used by the pricing team and senior leadership.

    • Accelya Product Suite Support
    • Serves as Accelya Product Suite (Revera, Mozart, Vivaldi) support resource.
    • Supports the Accelya Product Suite by performing all phases of application testing including system, integration, parallel; ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.

The FP&A team will develop, manage, and maintain models to support company activities.     • Serves as Accelya Product Suite (Revera, Mozart, Vivaldi) subject matter expert.
    • Ensures issues with Accelya Product Suite are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Supports the Accelya Product Suite by performing all phases of application testing including system, integration, parallel; ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Leads process improvement by investigating, identifying, and implementing Accelya Product Suite features; identifying areas where business processes can be improved by the delivered features.
    • Monitor dashboards and control reports, and troubleshoots data and interface issues.
    • Creates and maintains business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional specification documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documentation as necessary.
    • Liaises with finance, technical support, and data teams, to resolve complex system errors/inquiries.
    • Serves as a back-up for security and access requests, as well as maintains the documentation for SOX compliance.

    Reporting

    • Supports reporting and data requests from Revenue Accounting and various other business groups.
    • Serves as a back-up for maintain reports, as well as, executes ad hoc report/queries from various data sources including: RADS, TITAN, Travel Data Batch, eWallet, eCert, Cargo, etc.

    General

    • Understands the strategic direction of the organization and why projects are being done.
    • Displays ability to easily balance the big picture (strategic vision) of the organization with the day to day operations or projects.
    • Evaluates and documents the impact of cross-divisional projects on Finance division systems and processes.
    • Interacts with business customers (internal and external) to understand and document their business processes and requirements.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 4 years of experience as a business/systems analyst supporting enterprise level Finance Systems.
    • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Thorough understanding of the business; Financial Reporting or Accounting.
    • Ability to quickly learn processes and systems and recommend appropriate changes, to gain stakeholder buy-in.
    • Proven conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Passionate about business being done right with the ability to produce timely and accurate results.
    • A self-starter who takes ownership of their work and excels with minimum supervision.

As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions and provide recommendations to address the feasibility and profitability of future schedules and the implementation of our network strategy.Key Duties
    • Acts as a subject matter expert in the 18-month rolling schedule which drives budget and operating schedules.
    • Oversees all competitive P&L modeling and reporting and makes recommendations based on competitor actions and forecasted performance.
    • With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement to leads schedule scenario analysis, including feasibility analysis, future changes and profitability impact of these changes.
    • Liaises with scheduling group to ensure changes are correctly implemented in the schedule.
    • Assists the Network and Strategy Planning teams in the economic evaluation of AAG’s current network, forecasting new markets, and aircraft gauge.
    • Evaluates network fit and economics of potential aircraft upgauges and downgauges.
    • Monitors airline industry events and trends to communicate implications for Alaska Airlines (AS) to leadership across the commercial organization.
    • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key department customers such as station personnel, fleet planning, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
    • Performs in-depth analysis of our competitor’s network performance.
    • Responsible for Capacity Planning’s executive reporting.
    • Provides ad-hoc analysis and input in support of commercial planning decisions, company presentations, internal and external communications, etc.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 4 years of experience in analytics, with a preference for a commercial aviation focus or related area.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in an aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Expertise and experience in airline fundamentals and economics.
    • Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems.
    • Expert level knowledge of airline scheduling systems (Sabre, Oasis, etc.).
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Expert analytical skills with a deep understanding of analytical processes, including database querying tools and platforms.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the company, including senior executives.
    • A strategic thinker who can see “the big picture” while understanding the details.
    • A self-starter, with the ability to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum age of 18.

    Preferred

    • A Master of Business Administration or other Master’s degree with a focus in a quantitative discipline.

    Required

    • 2 years of experience in CyberSecurity Threat Intelligence and/or Detection and Response.
    • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Experience identifying and gathering relevant information, correlating data, and generating reports on threats, IOCs, security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risks.
    • Familiarity with security controls such as host firewalls, DLP, content filtering, IPS, FIM, anti-virus, and other security controls.
    • Solid understanding of attacker methodologies and tactics, including kill-chain phases and responses.
    • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills to document and communicate findings, escalate critical incidents, and interact with other teams.

    Role Summary

    Horizon Air is seeking a Financial Analyst (I, II, or III depending on experience) to join the Financial Planning and Analysis team. This team is a trusted partner for senior leadership driving change and moving the business forward in a highly visible role, with exposure to senior company leadership (including the C-Suite). As a member of our FP&A team you will find talented individuals who display Horizon Heart, demand high performance, and deliver results to our internal customers. The ideal candidate is optimistic, open minded and curious, comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment, and understands airline business is won and lost on the margins. Therefore, we are constantly looking for opportunities for the company to reduce costs, improve productivity, and drive growth. Using and implementing new data analytics tools will also be a key focus area.

    As a member of the FP&A team, this Analyst works in a fast-paced, high-exposure team whose responsibilities include financial analysis, key performance indicator modeling, competitive analysis and industry benchmarking, and what-if scenarios. The FP&A team will develop, manage, and maintain models to support company activities. The team also coordinates monthly close process for various divisions where needed, including accruals, PO system management, invoice review and research, and data entry into relevant support databases/models. The team assists and guides cost center managers with individual problems of planning, cost control, budget preparation, variance research and business case preparation. You must be able to lead and drive completion, finance projects and initiatives of varying scopes and sizes.

    Key Duties

    Level of oversight and responsibility varies depending on level of analyst. Over the Financial Analyst position:

    • Supports the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
    • Ensures rigorous financial discipline is tied to achieving key company objectives.
    • Generates productivity/financial metrics and drives ownership across the organization.
    • Manages capital budgeting and forecasting for Horizon divisions.
    • Drives the production of executive dashboards and variance reports for operating budgets.
    • Reviews monthly financial reports with each of the division and senior Finance leaders to identify key variances, trends, and potential issues that may materially impact financial performance.
    • Takes the lead in partnership with division leaders to come up with alternative action plans to course-correct any variances.
    • Collaborates with Director, FP&A and the rest of the FP&A team, to develop and maintain financial and productivity reporting/tracking regarding strategic initiatives and overall company objectives to drive better business understanding/insights, performance oversight, and accountability.
    • Drives the rollout and increased usage of Tableau and other planning/analytical tools to automate manual processes and provide actionable financial data and metrics to leaders across the company.
    • Analyzes divisional expenses.
    • Drives the ownership of cost performance across the division including identifying opportunities for improvement and leading development of actions plans to achieve desired cost savings and/or productivity improvement.
    • Assists FP&A and operating division leadership in communicating industry, company and divisional financial performance/key drivers throughout division.
    • Oversees monthly accounting/financial close and forecast process and assist with variance analysis.
    • Educates cost center managers on key financial/accounting tools, rules, and expectations and holds them accountable for submission of timely, accurate, monthly accruals and knowing their financial results.
    • Assists with ad-hoc financial analysis and business case development and provides regular strategic and tactical advice/feedback to division leadership.
    • Keeps abreast of industry developments and competitor performance with respect to productivity and front-line labor compensation.

    Preferred

    • 2+ years of financial planning & analysis experience.

    • Demonstrated understanding of financial analysis as it relates to airline metrics and productivity strongly preferred.

    Required

    • 7 years of experience in network scheduling or related area.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business, Statistics or other relevant field; or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
    • Expert experience in Saber Level Schedule Manager and INFORM experience.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to create and maintain strong partnerships and influence without direct authority.
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve existing fraud detection practices and minimize fraud related revenue losses to the company.Key Duties
    • With limited direction from a manager, work independently to monitor & research customer payment records, utilizing various tools and work queues to investigate and validate transactions.
    • Takes initiative to develop solutions to complex problems as they relate to ticket fraud prevention, including, but not limited to, gathering personal information from customers to help identify discrepancies and/or eliminate suspicion.
    • Make recommendations to streamline or enhance existing policies/procedures, stay ahead of continuously evolving fraud practices, and further protect guest data.
    • Adept at navigating through various scenarios and being solution-oriented during conflict resolution. Willing to apply excellent customer service skills while having difficult conversations with guests, cardholders & Mileage plan (MP) members.
    • Ability to thrive in a team environment, working closely with peers to analyze fraud trends, explore innovative ways to reduce risk, and make recommendations on rules adjustment with fraud tools.
    • Collaborates with counterparts including banks, merchants, peers, and other internal teams to detect fraud and eliminate risks within the organization.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    • 2 years of experience in fraud prevention, revenue protection, airline industry experience or related area.
    • Bachelor’s degree with Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field, or an additional two years of training/experience required in lieu of this degree.
    • Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal & written customer service skills.
    • Moderate knowledge of fraud prevention and detection best practices.
    • Capable of working both independently and in collaborative group settings.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of rule-based fraud programs/platforms.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

This team is a trusted partner for senior leadership driving change and moving the business forward in a highly visible role. Therefore, we are constantly striving to do a little bit better while driving costs down.As a member of the FP&A team, this Analyst works in a fast-paced, high-exposure team whose responsibilities include financial analysis, 3-year metrics reporting, key performance indicator modeling, competitive analysis and industry benchmarking, and what-if scenarios. The FP&A team will develop, manage, and maintain models to support company activities. The team also coordinates monthly close process for various divisions where needed, including accruals, PO system management, invoice review and research, and data entry into relevant support databases/models. The team assists and guides cost center managers with individual problems of planning, cost control, budget preparation, variance research and business case preparation. You must be able to lead and drive completion, finance projects and initiatives of varying scopes and sizes.Key Duties
    • In the FP&A I, under general supervision, you will analyze financial data and make recommendations for moderately complex business problems and provide input into solutions.
    • In the FP&A II you will use solid understanding of financial fundamentals to analyze data, make recommendations for approach to solutions and make recommendations for solutions to complex business problems.

    • Serves as Accelya Product Suite (Revera, Mozart, Vivaldi) subject matter expert.
    • Supports the Accelya Product Suite by performing all phases of application testing including system, integration, parallel; ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Leads process improvement by investigating, identifying, and implementing Accelya Product Suite features; identifying areas where business processes can be improved by the delivered features.
    • Creates and maintains business requirements documents, system configuration documents, detailed functional specification documents, test plans and test cases, user training documents and implementation documentation as necessary.
    • Troubleshoot data and interface issues. Monitor dashboards and control reports, and troubleshoots data and interface issues, as needed.
