    • Oversees and manages Line and Hangar Maintenance Operations to ensure that all maintenance facilities are operated in compliance with FAA, OSHA and EPA regulations and Company policies and procedures.*
    • Represents Company in union grievance proceedings.
    • Ensures that complete and accurate records are maintained.*
    • Responsible for providing leadership to direct staff to ensure the various teams incorporate continuous improvement methods to efficiently support maintenance production and the daily operation.
    • Collaboration with the Director of Quality and Director of Contract Maintenance to identify and implement initiations to increase fleet performance.
    • Advanced skills are required to use Microsoft Office applications and other software to create  various reports and analysis relating to maintenance and engineering procedures, plans, and forecasts.*
    • Team member in operational performance meetings with United Airlines and providing proactive and follow up data regarding maintenance’s performance and initiatives.
    • Administers and controls assigned budgetary responsibilities and prepares monthly budget variance reports.*
    • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.*

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance or Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
    • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.

    Position Summary

    The Tax Manager/Director is responsible for managing the Company’s and related parties various tax reporting responsibilities. This individual and their team will prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns, state property tax returns, sales and use, and excise tax returns. The Tax Manager/Director is responsible for promoting continuous improvement, implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with the Company’s tax policy and procedures.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for overseeing compliance for all federal and state income, sales/use, property, and excise taxes for the consolidated group of companies.
    • Responsible for preparation and/or review of partnership tax returns as needed.
    • Researches tax accounting alternatives and studies laws and regulations to ensure correct application.
    • Works directly with the SVP, CAO & Treasurer with respect to tax planning and identifying and evaluating opportunities and alternatives to minimize the tax burden and manage the effective tax rate for the consolidated group of companies.
    • Ensures quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments are made timely and accurately as needed.
    • Understands how items are reported for financial accounting purposes (GAAP) and applies correct tax laws, inclusive of planning, to identify book-to-tax differences.
    • Works with the SVP, CAO & Treasurer to determine the monthly tax provision for financial reporting in accordance with GAAP for all companies in the consolidated group.
    • Works with the SVP, CAO & Treasuer to compute the current and deferred portion of the tax provision, reconcile the effective tax rate, and document all work-papers accordingly for the year end audits.
    • Prepares tax footnotes with respect to audited financial statements.
    • Oversees the work and assesses performance of tax department staff.
    • Stays up-to-date on changes in federal and state tax laws as they apply to the consolidated group of companies.
    • Works with the Director of Legal Affairs to ensure all companies are properly registered in to do business in states where companies within the consolidated group are active.
    • Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures for the tax department that ensure the overall responsibilities of the tax department are met in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Has budget line responsibility.
    • Negotiates property tax assessments.
    • Oversees all state and federal tax inquiries and audits.
    • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.*

    Education/Experience

    • Master’s degree in tax or willingness to acquire preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
    • At least five years of experience in federal tax required
    • Experience in working with consolidated groups preferred but not required
    • Knowledge of GAAP preferred but not required
    • CPA license preferred but not required
