    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Procurement and will lead and support sourcing projects related to Air Canada’s Commercial & Corporate categories (including but not limited to loyalty, e-commerce, marketing, payments and distribution, product design and sales).

    The Strategic Procurement Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality services with a strong focus on value. This individual will also bring a strong focus on process optimization and customer-centricity through a variety of initiatives.

    This position’s responsibilities will include conducting supply market research, building category/project baselines, establishing sourcing strategies, seeking proposals, conducting pricing and contract negotiations, and contributing to the overall improvement of procurement practices at Air Canada.

    Key areas of responsibility include the following:

    • Lead and manage procurement events, independently or in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Strategic Procurement:
      • Conduct supply market research and baseline spend analysis
      • Work with cross functional teams to determine business requirements and establish sourcing strategies that deliver financial and non-financial benefits (e.g. service levels, risk mitigation)
      • Prepare and issue RFxs, evaluate responses and conduct negotiations
      • Design and implement category strategies that deliver financial and other performance targets such as service, quality, and risk management Lead contract negotiations and oversee contract drafting and execution
      • Manage contract database administration tasks
    • Contribute to the improvement of internal procurement practices:
      • Participate in the establishment of best-in-class procurement methods
      • Develop models to evaluate supplier proposals using quantitative and qualitative criteria
    • Act as an ambassador for Strategic Procurement and Air Canada:
      • Further develop Strategic Procurement’s relationships with internal customers through all engagements and current/potential service providers to Air Canada
      • Effectively communicate and promote the successes of Strategic Procurement
      • Actively engage in learning Corporate and Commercial’s mandates subject matter, negotiation best practices, Air Canada’s governance and business processes

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • University degree in a relevant field of study (Commerce, Supply chain, Finance, Engineering) or education combined with professional experience to support the responsibilities of this role
    • Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), analytical, negotiation, and project management skills
    • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a related field. Experience in procurement, passenger airlines, partnerships, marketing, project management, supply chain and/or logistics are of added benefit.
    • Full proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and manage changing priorities
    • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to innovate
    • Strong organizational skills
    • High degree of professionalism and discretion is essential
    • Flexibility with work hours and occasional travel may be required

    • Attend conference calls with Line Maintenance and Airframe groups to communicate material transportation needs and timelines
    • Share timely information with required stakeholders on material delivery
    • Accountable for meeting transportation deadlines and communicating risks to customer.
    • Attend all Out of Service and Airframe Planning calls
    • Work with all Stores locations to coordinate transportation strategy
    • Maintain Transportation Routing Guide instruction for internal and external customer and suppliers
    • Ensure routing instructions and processes are adhered to by suppliers
    • Coordinate transportation supplier meetings for performance monitoring and prioritizing
    • Manage KPI database and documents control BUPM (Business Process Manual)
    • Coordinate with all suppliers for the availability of performance and financial data
    • Assist with the invoicing strategy for cost distribution to internal department IDs coding
    • Oversee the Non-Revenue Flight Operation Customs process including development and documentation of process.
    • Support the Customs Manager during vacation periods and special projects.
    • Act as delegate to the Transportation Strategy and AOG Logistics Manager as required

    Qualifications

    • 5 years Logistics/transportation experience
    • 5 years Customs experience
    • CCS Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a definite asset
    • Logistics/Supply Chain courses an asset
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Works well under pressure

    The RM Inventory Methods Manager is responsible for the support and maintenance of Air Canada’s seat inventory system. The mandate includes support of existing capabilities and deployment of new functionalities destined to ensure the quality of our revenue seat inventory.
    Responsibilities: 
    Support Altea Inventory system and related functionality
    • Support existing functionalities and governance of workflows and business processes.
    • Participate in deployment of projects, initiatives, enhancements, and upcoming changes voted by the Altea community.
    • Collaborate with RM teams to plan, test and deploy projects and enhancements, determining RM business requirements, user sign-off, identifying risks, impacts and mitigation.
    • Maintain Altea business rules database, ensuring system integrity and functionality.
    • Evaluate and make recommendations for improvements and optimization of rules and functionality.
    • Support the implementation of new Altea Inventory functionalities to understand their requirements and apply changes effectively, working closely with stakeholders.
    • Keep up to date with vendor development, supporting upgrades and fixes, ensuring RM business requirements are met.
    Collaboration and System Ownership
    • Investigate, track, prioritize and ensure resolution of issues and defects.
    • Propose new ways to improve existing and implement new functionality.
    • Identify problems and opportunities with respect to Altea and PROS applications and propose solutions that help achieve the business goals.
    • Possess and maintain Revenue Management knowledge, experience, and background to effectively assist in all the above.
    • Support testing activities of other teams in Altea UAT/PDT environments and configuration.

    Qualifications

    • University degree with specialization in business, mathematics, engineering or equivalent.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
    • Experience within Revenue Management systems and business, an asset
    • Experience working with a Passenger Service System application, preferably Amadeus/Altea suite, an asset.
    • Solid business/commercial orientation and experience as well as an understanding of the airline industry competitive environment.
    • Experience in user acceptance/business process testing, building test case scenarios and execution.
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks and to prioritize heavy workloads and tight deadlines.
    • Ability to generate reports and successfully translate and communicate the data into meaningful information to achieve corporate goals.
    • Advanced technical skills including query languages, data analysis, advanced Excel skills, an asset.
    • Self-starter and able to work under general direction.

    • Ensure that risks related to Safety and Security are addressed, root cause identified, and corrective measures implemented. Where self-audit or regulatory audit activities have revealed vulnerabilities, ensure identification of root cause, implementation of corrective measures to address them, as well as a means to verify effectiveness.
